What do you do when you want the look of a berry-red stain, but you don't want it to actually stain your lips? Voltage Lead Makeup Artist Ashley Kilcher thought the just-bitten look would be hot on the runway, but she also knew that stained lips were impractical for runway makeup changes. So she challenged The Elixery to create a stain that didn't actually stain.
In response to this challenge, we at The Elixery created "Swoon," a lovely, sheer lipstick that gives that sexy stained lip look, but stays on top of your lips instead of staining them. "We wanted to go with rich pops of berry tones on the face, with slight cranberry smudging under the eye," Ashley said. "We paired it with Swoon as a great stain-looking lipstick that is fresh for spring."
"Swoon" was featured on the runway as part of designer Rachel Blomgren's looks for Voltage: Fashion Amplified 2011.

All time favorite
I wore this lipstick in a wedding five years ago, and bought a tube at the time. Five years later I did something I never thought I'd do: I FINISHED A TUBE OF LIPSTICK. I have had the experience of wanting to buy something again but it's been discontinued, and I am thrilled to be starting a new tube of this sassy lip color. It makes me happy to support an awesome local company as well!

My favorite lipstick ever!
Swoon practically makes me swoon it's such a great color! I've loved this lipstick since the first time I tried it at a pop-up shop. I also love that it's both intense and sheer. It's a wonderful coolish red that can be worn lighter or darker depending on how heavily you put it on. It's like several lipsticks in one!

I love this lipstick. The color gives enough color without being overly colorful. I use it everyday with my olive skin. I have tried other brands and keep going back to this brand. The best!

Lipstick: color/texture
I work in a very no-makeup place, but I love the rich vintage reds my vintagy friends are wearing. This is a great compromise because it's a wonderful, rich bluish red, but the sheerness of the formula makes it a bit lighter. I don't feel like I'm making the same kind of out and out statement, but I have color to lighten up my face.

punchy but wearable
Swoon is a bold raspberry red/pink with a slight translucency to it - very pretty, though I admit brighter than I expected! The stain-like quality makes it wearable, though, especially blotted down a bit. The formula is lovely as ever. This would be a great color for Spring.

sweet as a cherry popsicle
this lipstick stains your lips just like a cherry popsicle– i find i need to re-apply this lipstick more often as it doesn't hold as well as the more weighed siren lipstick, but i still enjoy the lightness of this color, perfect for the dog days of summer. the case is durable & so is the stick itself (i bicycle & it survives the daily 10 mile commute). my favorite part? wearing a lipstick where the "materials are safe, ethical, and free of animal testing."

Not My Color
Lovely lipstick, which I have come to expect from the Elixery - and you always deliver! This is just not a good color for me, the last shade I had was Devious (I think) and that worked much better for me.

A Pop of Red!
As advertised, Swoon is a bright red color....I love that it can be applied as a 'stain' or you can build the intensity. It is very bright, but I like that. It will be great for spring! Not sure if it's my perfect red, but I am enjoying it!

Quite bright
I like the formula but Swoon is a bit bright for me and only works if I use on top of lip gloss. Full, young lips would look great in this one...mine are a bit thin. Great feeling lipstick however. I will be getting more colors.

Great Lipstick and Great Color
I know I am in for a treat every time I take the cap off- smells incredible, looks beautiful, applies wonderfully, stays put, and feels great on the lips and keeps my lips feeling great. Yes, this can be said for all The Elixery lipsticks. Here, the color is amazing. I wanted red lips that compliment me (not upstage me) and this is what I got.
